US police seek shooter in killing, nine other highway shootings

WASHINGTON (AFP) — Police in Ohio investigated the death of a motorist that may be tied to as many as nine other shootings along a stretch of busy highway ringing the city of Columbus.
Gail Knisley, 62, died Tuesday when she was hit by a bullet that had pierced her car's door.
"To the person or persons responsible for committing these crimes: We desire to open a dialogue with you," Franklin County, Ohio Sheriff Jim Karnes said in a statement sent to AFP Saturday.
The other gunshots along the stretch of Interstate 270 that encircles Columbus caused no injuries but hit vehicles' bodies, windows and tires. Police have linked one of those shootings to the Knisley killing. ...
