McRae lives out a dream in Paris-Dakar

LONDON (AFP) — Scotland's 1995 world rally champion Colin McRae will fulfil a lifetime dream when he competes in the Paris-Dakar rally for the first time next year.

McRae, one of the drivers in the frame to replace Richard Burns at Subaru in the world rally championship next season, is to team up for Nissan alongside four time Dakar winner Ari Vatanen.

"It's something I've always wanted to do," McRae told autosport.com on Tuesday.

"I always enjoyed the Safari, especially the old Safaris, an event where you could pace yourself, but it's very much a learning year for me."
