BLACKBURN, England (AFP) — Blackburn manager Graeme Souness has dismissed suggestions he insulted a referee after another touchline confrontation at the weekend.
Souness faces being summoned to appear before the Football Association's disciplinary committee for the third time in 18 months after a run-in with referee Graham Poll during Blackburn's 1-0 win over Tottenham on Saturday.
Poll banished the Blackburn boss from the dug out after Souness had questioned his impartiality when telling him: "I didn't know you were a Tottenham supporter".
"He didn't hear it, so I repeated it and he sent me off," Souness told Monday's Lancashire Evening Post.
Souness believes talk of a touchline ban is wide of the mark.
