Ricketts extends Tottenham contract

LONDON (AFP) — Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Rohan Ricketts agreed a one year contract extension with the English Premiership side that will keep him at White Hart Lane until 2007.

Ricketts, 21, joined Tottenham from arch north London rivals Arsenal in July 2002 and so far this season has made 17 appearances, scoring twice.

He told Tottenham's official website www.spurs.co.uk on Tuesday: "I am happy to extend my stay at the club and I am grateful that the club have put faith in me.

"I have played a few games for the first team now and, hopefully, I can replay that faith."
