RIYADH, (AFP) — Saudi Arabia was not informed of security threats which led British Airways (BA) to cancel three flights to the kingdom, according to Interior Minister Prince Nayef bin Abul Aziz.

"Although the channels ... between (BA) and us are open, they did not tell us about anything related to planes," Nayef was quoted as saying by the official Saudi Press Agency.

It was the first official Saudi comment on the scare. The minister had been asked whether he had information on terrorist attacks targeting specific planes or flights.
