WASHINGTON (AFP) — Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan will visit to the United States in the third week of January for talks expected to focus on addressing Ankara's concerns about the future of Iraq, a senior US official said.

Erdogan is to arrive on January 26 and will meet President George W. Bush at the White House on January 28, the official said, adding that the prime minister would likely make stops in other US cities besides Washington.

"I am sure the whole discussion about Iraq will be a major part of the discussion between the prime minister and the president," the official told reporters on condition of anonymity.
