Saha gets coveted No 9 at Old Trafford

LONDON (AFP) — Louis Saha will be handed the coveted No.9 shirt at Manchester United following his 10.5 million pound move from Fulham.

And the Frenchman has vowed to emulate the Old Trafford heroes who have worn the shirt.

Bobby Charlton was the biggest star to wear the No 9 at United and the last man was Andy Cole. The shirt has been left vacant since Cole's 5 million pound move to Blackburn in December 2001.

"It's a fantastic honour to wear the shirt and I hope I can be a success like those who have worn it in the past," he told the Daily Mirror.

"I'm always trying to become a better player and I believe I can improve so much more playing at United.

"Playing with great players there can only help. I've always looked at other players to see...
