Jackie Chan says he's not afraid to visit bird flu-hit countries

SINGAPORE (AFP) — Hong Kong movie star Jackie Chan said he was not afraid to travel to countries which have announced outbreaks of bird flu, unveiling public appearances in Thailand, Taiwan, South Korea and Japan.

"I'm not afraid to travel. I'm a lucky person," he told a media conference in Singapore on Saturday, where he is a special guest at the government-sponsored Chingay parade late Saturday to celebrate the Lunar New Year.

American crooner Andy Williams has already postponed his March concert in Singapore to July amid concerns over the bird flu virus.

Action movie hero Chan also said he will be eating chicken rice, a famous local delicacy, despite the scare sparked by the avian influenza.
