Young Turks of hip-hop and R and B set to dominate Grammys

LOS ANGELES (AFP) — An army of young hip-hop and R and B artists led by rappers Outkast, soul siren Beyonce and the ever-contentious Eminem look set to dominate Sunday's scandal-rocked 46th annual Grammy Awards.

But music will have to compete with controversy for attention when the recording industry's top honours are handed out in Los Angeles as a furore over the flashing of Janet Jackson's breast on live television threatens to overshadow the show.

Jackson has been dropped as a presenter at the show, while CBS slapped a longer delay on the live telecast after five-times-nominated Justin Timberlake ripped off her bustier during a performance at Sunday's football Super Bowl, exposing more than he bargained for and sparking a firestorm.
