Tiny port on Italy's volcanic isle Stromboli finally gets electricity

ROME (AFP) — The tiny port of Ginostra, on the volcanic island of Stromboli off the southern tip of Italy, finally got a permanent supply of electricity.
The port's 27 residents, and the 500 odd tourists who swell their ranks in summer, previously had only a few hours' power a day supplied by generators.
"We're happy," said resident Erina Giuffre. "Now we can finally say that we too are part of Italy."
