PHILADELPHIA, United States (AFP) — Philadelphia has endured injuries to several top players during the National Hockey League season and must now play without defenseman Marcus Ragnarsson for seven to 10 days.
The Swedish standout hurt his left shoulder Sunday in a 4-2 loss at Detroit. Ragnarsson has four goals and nine assists in 58 games. He missed five games in January with a strained rotator cuff in his left shoulder.
"My shoulder is a little sore," Ragnarsson said. "I'm probably going to start rehab (Tuesday). Then I will be on a day-to-day basis. It's not as bad as it was before. I can skate right now, but I can't do any contact."
The Flyers, 33-22 with 12 drawn, are level with Ottawa atop the Eastern Conference despite a host of hurt players.
