Kerry wins four states in Super Tuesday romp: TV

WASHINGTON (AFP) — US Senator John Kerry added Democratic primary victories in his home state of Massachusetts, and Maryland and Connecticut, to his haul of "Super Tuesday" election contests, television projections said.
Kerry, the runaway frontrunner, was hoping to land a knockout blow on his only serious challenger John Edwards as 10 states made their choice for the Democrat candidate to battle President George W. Bush for the White House in November.
He had earlier been projected to win the state of Ohio, but the primary in Georgia was judged too close to call, the television stations said, basing their projections on exit polls.
If Kerry emerges as the Democratic nominee as expected, Ohio will likely play a key role in November's election battle against Republican President George W. Bush.
