Conrad Black sues Hollinger for 3.7 million in legal costs

WILMINGTON, United States (AFP) — The ousted chairman of Hollinger International, Lord Conrad Black, has sued the publisher to recover the 3.7 million dollars he said it has cost him to defend himself in three lawsuits filed against him and in an investigation by the Securities and Exchange Commission.

In papers filed in the Delaware Chancery Court and made available to AFP on Sunday, Black said Hollinger's bylaws require it to pay expenses and legal fees incurred "in defending against civil, criminal, administrative or investigative actions ... brought against Lord Black in his capacity as an officer or director of International."
