Heartbreak for Kennedy as Celtic star ruled out for a year

GLASGOW (AFP) — Celtic and Scotland defender John Kennedy faces a year or more out of action after suffering serious knee ligament damage on his full international debut against Romania.
Celtic confirmed 24 hours after the match that scans had revealed extensive damage to the 20-year-old's cruciate and lateral ligaments in his left knee. He will need surgery and is expected to be out for at least a year, the club said on its website.
