Fish v Bjorkman to launch USA v Sweden Davis Cup tie

DELRAY BEACH, United States (AFP) — Sweden will be relying on experience Friday when Jonas Bjorkman leads his team in the Davis Cup World Group quarter-final tie against the United States at the Delray Beach Tennis Center.
The 27th-ranked Bjorkman, 32, was always slated to play doubles, but was also tapped for singles duty as the highest-ranked player on the team.
Bjorkman, who has played in 26 Davis Cup ties in his career, will open the competition on Friday by taking on 22-year-old American Mardy Fish who will be playing on only his fourth US squad.
The 18th-ranked Fish won their only previous encounter in the 2003 Nottingham semi-finals.
