French watchdog probes Eurotunnel share movements

PARIS (AFP) — A judicial procedure that implicitly targets French financial advisor and Eurotunnel shareholder Nicolas Miguet was launched in November by the recently deposed Eurotunnel management, a source close to the matter revealed.

The investigation by magistrate Rene Cros follows allegations of distribution of false information and share price manipulation, the daily Le Monde said in its forthcoming edition dated Saturday.

The probe results from a complaint against unknown persons filed on October 15 but which contains the name of Miguet, who led the shareholders revolt that overturned Eurotunnel's management Wednesday.

Such a complaint almost automatically results in an investigation being opened.
