Barca's Luis Garcia out of Real Madrid clash
0 Comments | AFP, April, 2004
MADRID (AFP) — Barcelona winger Luis Garcia will miss Sunday's clash with bitter rivals Real Madrid because of a groin strain sustained in training.
Former Spanish international, and Barca club captain, Luis Enrique is expected to be the replacement for the luckless Garcia.
Garcia, 25, was selected on Thursday for the Spain squad that will play Italy in Genoa on Wednesday but is likely to lose the chance of getting his first cap for the second time in 12 months.
He missed his chance to make his international debut in similar circumstances a year ago.
Better news for Spain and Barcelona on Saturday was that defender Carles Puyol was passed fit to play after recovering from a minor left hamstring strain.
