Albacete and Mallorca soothe their relegation headaches

MADRID (AFP) — Albacete and Real Mallorca almost guaranteed their Spanish first division survival, after flirting with relegation for much of the season, with vital home victories.
Carlos Aranda got the first goal of the day after just three minutes, and put Albacete on the way to a 3-1 win over Real Zaragoza, when he latched onto a deep pass by Pablo Ibanez.
Antonio Pacheco's header put Albacete further ahead shortly after the break before Zaragoza's Peruvian international Cesar Rebosio got one back for the Spanish Cup winners.
Mikel Aguirre then clinched the three points for the Spanish first division's poorest club with a short-range strike 11 minutes before the whistle, which left Zaragoza still in relegation trouble.
