Reichstag is mission impossible, Tom Cruise told

BERLIN (AFP) — Hollywood star Tom Cruise has been refused permission to use the Reichstag in Berlin for shooting for "Mission Impossible 3," a spokesman for the historic German parliament said.

Cruise visited the building in the heart of the German capital in April and was apparently enthusiastic about using the location for the second sequel to the hit "Mission Impossible".

Shooting for the film starts in the region in summer.

But Speaker Wolfgang Thierse had other ideas when Babelsberg Studios came asking about using the Reichstag. "This is about preserving the dignity of the parliament," the spokesman said.
