Cofidis shake up team management after drug allegations

PARIS (AFP) — Cofidis, the French cycling team tainted by drug allegations which is returning to competition this week after a self-imposed three-week exile, announced the departure of its manager and team doctor.
Cofidis' decision to shut up shop after allegations of widespread doping made by sacked rider Philippe Gaumont cost British world time-trial champion David Millar the chance to make his international track debut at the World Cup in Manchester.
It also robbed France's top team of taking part in the recent series of World Cup classics.
Cofidis confirmed they would make their comeback in Wednesday's start of the Four Days of Dunkirk race but said manager Alain Bondue and team doctor Jean-Jacques Menuet had left the team.
