Kicked to the couch: Clinton talks about the Monica days

LONDON (AFP) — Bill Clinton's affair with Monica Lewinsky dominated the publicity blitz in London ahead of the release of his memoirs, with the former US president snapping at an interviewer for pressing the issue but admitting to another that it had left him sleeping on the White House couch.

In a rare lapse from one of the era's smoothest statesmen, Clinton lost his temper in an interview with BBC television to be aired Tuesday.

After being repeatedly asked if he was genuine in voicing regret over his affair with Lewinsky, Clinton let out a rant that lasted several minutes, the Times reported Monday.

"As outbursts go, it is not just some flash that is over in an instant. It is something substantial and sustained," a BBC executive who viewed the interview...
