LOS ANGELES (AFP) — US recording giant Warner Music Group (WMG) announced it was teaming up with a wireless company to exploit the lucrative musical mobile phone ringtone market.
In the first such deal in the United States, WMG and wireless entertainment firm Mobileway will allow fans to download songs by dialling telephone "short codes" that will appear on Warner's compact disc packages.
By punching in the five-digit codes, teenage music lovers will be able to pay for access to ringtones featuring their favourite WMG artists via their mobile ...
