LE GRAND-BORNAND, France (AFP) — Lance Armstrong served notice that he is in no mood to hand out gifts to his rivals on his way to victory on the 17th stage of the Tour de France.

The 32-year-old US Postal rider claimed his third stage win from this year's race, following those at Plateau de Beille and Villard-de-Lans, to further tighten his grip on the yellow jersey.

But immediately after the stage, the plaudits went to his teammate Floyd Landis, one of the unsung heroes of Armstrong's US Postal team who have worked so hard for him over the years.

Landis was workmanlike throughout the day.
