Cink beats Woods by four strokes to capture WGC Invitational

AKRON, United States (AFP) — American Stewart Cink captured his second title of the year with a wire-to-wire win at the seven million dollar World Golf Championship Invitational here.
Cink carded a even-par 70 to finish at 11-under 269, four strokes ahead of runner-ups Tiger Woods and Rory Sabbatini of South Africa.
Cink became the first player to win an event this year while leading after the first, second and third rounds.
With an 0-6 record when heading into a final round, Cink erased those bad memories at the Firestone Country Club.
Starting the round with a five-shot cushion, Cink forced his pursuers - among them Woods - to take risks. Sabbatini was the lone player to get close, briefly pulling within two shots after a birdie at the 14th....
