Annette Bening concerned at US image abroad

SAN SEBASTIAN, Spain (AFP) — US actress Annette Bening said she was concerned at her country's current image abroad.
"Many people are concerned at how our country is being perceived," said Bening, in Spain to present her latest picture "Being Julia" at the San Sebastian film festival.
"I'm a Democrat, I support (Democrat presidential candidate) John Kerry," Bening added, without commenting on Republican incumbent George W. Bush as the clock ticks down to the November 2 presidential election.
"I hesitate to say as much as some actors, because the situation is so complicated (...), then one is misquoted," Bening said ahead of receiving a Donostia prize later Tuesday evening for her contribution to the industry.
