LIVERPOOL, England (AFP) — Noe Paramot's first goal for Tottenham Hotspur reignited Jacques Santini's side's start to the season and brought an abrupt, and unexpected, end to Everton's impressive run of six games without defeat.

Paramot's second half header capped a determined, battling performance not seen from Tottenham teams in recent years to suggest that Santini, the former France coach, is beginning to instill a steely resolve in the London club that could lead them to a top six finish next May.

What Spurs lacked in creativity and ambition, they more than made up for in defensive resolve and commitment.
