Thirty Al-Qaeda suspects to be tried in Lebanon

BEIRUT (AFP) — Thirty alleged militants connected to Al-Qaeda are to be tried in Beirut, judicial sources said, although only nine are currently in custody.
"The military court commissioner Jean Fahd has begun judicial proceedings against 30 people of Lebanese, Palestinian, Saudi and Syrian nationality for belonging to a terrorist network and has referred them to the Beirut investigating magistrate Riyad Talih for the needs of the inquiry," the source said.
The accused are charged with preparing attacks on foreign interests in Lebanon. ...
