Anfield would welcome Owen back says Gerrard

LIVERPOOL, England (AFP) — Liverpool skipper Steven Gerrard said that he and the fans at Anfield would welcome fellow England international Michael Owen back to Merseyside.
Owen made what was expected to be a dream move to Real Madrid in the summer, with Gerrard himself turning down a move to Chelsea.
But Owen has struggled at the Bernabeu, and after starting in Sunday's 1-0 defeat by Deportivo La Coruna he was substituted after just 52 minutes, and is now reported to have suffered a "slight muscle strain."
And Gerrard said that Owen would be welcomed back to England.
