LONDON (AFP) — Everton are planning to build on their unexpectedly strong start to the season by luring out-of-favour Chelsea midfielder Scott Parker to Liverpool in the January transfer window.

Manager David Moyes has cash to spend following the sale of Wayne Rooney to Manchester United and Goodison Park has become a much more attractive destination with the club currently sitting third in the Premiership table.

"We were interested in Scott Parker before he went to Chelsea and he would be a player we would consider if he became available again because he is a very good player," the manager admitted.

Parker has made just one appearance as a substitute for Chelsea this season although he has been assured by manager Jose Mourinho that he will get his chance if he bides his time.
