Four suspended by NBA after pre-season fight

NEW YORK (AFP) — Four players have been suspended for a combined eight games without pay and Kirk Hinrich fined 10,000 dollars by the National Basketball Association in the wake of a multi-player pre-season fight.
The fight, in Monday's exhibition game between the Washington Wizards and Chicago Bulls, drew a total monetary penalty of nearly 500,000 dollars from NBA senior vice president Stu Jackson.
Wizards center Brendan Haywood was suspended three games, Bulls centers Antonio Davis and Eddy Curry received two-game bans and Wizards guard Larry Hughes - who initiated the entire incident - received a one-game suspension.
Bulls guard Hinrich was fined 10,000 dollars.
