PARIS (AFP) — Roman Abramovich's face was wreathed in smiles and he had every reason to as the billionaire owner of Premiership side Chelsea saw them book their place in the last 16 of the Champions League with a 1-0 victory over CSKA Moscow.

Indeed he can dream of CSKA joining them in the second round as despite losing out to Arjen Robben's first-half goal the Russians - who are sponsored by Abramovich's company Sibfnet to the tune of 29million pounds - lie second in Group H ahead of Paris Saint Germain on goal difference.

The French side drew 0-0 with titleholders FC Porto, former team of Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho who guided them to the Champions League trophy and who are struggling to even make the last 16.
