PARIS (AFP) — Andy Roddick is planning an all-out assault on next month's Davis Cup final clash with Spain to wipe away the misery of missing out on a Grand Slam title in 2004.

World number two Roddick will be a key player as the United States seek their 32nd Davis Cup crown on clay in Seville and the 22-year-old believes his lack of Grand Slam titles this year will be an extra motivation.

"For me the Davis Cup is on a par with a Grand Slam," said Roddick.

"Every person on our team has been very close to winning a major championship, but we haven't done it. We are kind of trying to use a combined effort to get there."
