"Incredible" second week on top at North American box office

LOS ANGELES (AFP) — Several high-profile films opened this weekend but could not knock "The Incredibles" from the top spot at the North American box office, according to preliminary figures released.

Pixar's animated action spoof is expected to gross another 51 million dollars, boosting its take in the United States and Canada in two weeks to 144 million dollars, the Encino, California-based Exhibitor Relations reported.

Featuring the voices of Holly Hunter and Samuel L. Jackson, "The Incredibles" parodies comic-book films, telling the story of a family of super heroes who try to settle into suburban life but are drafted back into action to save the world.
