Harry's reign cost 3m in agents fees claims Portsmouth owner

LONDON (AFP) — Portsmouth shelled out three million pounds (5.7m dollars) in agents' fees during Harry Redknapp's two-and-a-half year spell as coach at Fratton Park, club president Milan Mandaric claimed.

"I know Manchester United are spending a lot more money on some heavy-duty players, but this is Portsmouth we are talking about," Mandaric told Saturday's Daily Mail.

Redknapp, who spent 12m pounds on players, resigned as Portsmouth manager on Wednesday after falling out with the club's owner over the arrival of Panathinaikos' director of football Velimir Zajec.

Mandaric said he had tried to dissuade Redknapp from leaving.
