Blame pinned on British home secretary for 'exposing' affair

LONDON (AFP) — The blame falls on Home Secretary David Blunkett for exposing his three-year affair with the married publisher of The Spectator, the magazine itself charges in its latest issue.
In an editorial, it said it had "grave doubts" about the way Blunkett -- a senior member of Prime Minister Tony Blair's government -- apparently leaked details about his fling with Kimberly Quinn to the press last August.
Blunkett is feeling the heat after it was alleged last weekend that he helped to fast-track an application by Quinn's nanny to remain in Britain indefinitely. He denies any wrongdoing or abuse of his authority.
