Keane cleared of assault

MANCHESTER (AFP) — Manchester United captain Roy Keane was cleared of assaulting a 16-year-old boy by a magistrates court.
Keane, 33, was accused of grabbing his alleged victim by the neck while shouting in his face after the boy had insulted him.
The teenager also claimed Keane swung a punch at him, stopping inches from his face.
The Irish international, giving evidence on the second day of the trial at Trafford Magistrates Court, admitted he was angry with the student - but he repeatedly denied manhandling him.
Standing in the witness box with his hands clasped in front of him, Keane spoke quietly to deny any physical assault on the youngster, who cannot be named for legal reasons.
The court has been told that after exchanging words Keane walked away with his dogs.
