Local hype dangerous for me, says Aussie hope Webber

MELBOURNE, Australia, (AFP) — Home expectations in this season's Formula One world championship could prove dangerous for Mark Webber in Sunday's Australian Grand Prix, the new Williams racer said.

The 28-year-old Australian is feeling the heat with endless team promotions, street parades and media interviews and he said he can't wait to leave after Sunday's race.

Webber was featured in a race promotion driving across a deserted Sydney Harbour Bridge in his Williams car last weekend and he has been feted by local fans this week ahead of his first drive for the British team since switching from Jaguar.
