Deutsche Boerse chief seeks to appease rebel shareholders over LSE merger

FRANKFURT (AFP) — Deutsche Boerse chief Werner Seifert is finally to meet rebel shareholders who are fiercely opposed to plans by the operator of the Frankfurt stock exchange to merge with the London Stock Exchange.
A Deutsche Boerse spokesman partially confirmed a corresponding report published in the Financial Times Deutschland.
"We would like to meet a cross-section of our shareholders to hear their concerns directly and to discuss the advantages of various strategies," the newspaper quoted an e-mail from Seifert to the rebel shareholders as saying.
The outcome of those talks would then be discussed at a subsequent supervisory board meeting, FT Deutschland said Thursday.
