MEXICO CITY (AFP) — Cristie Kerr posted a four-under-par 68 and opened a two-stroke clubhouse lead in the second round at the 1.2 million dollars LPGA Mexico City event.
A 36-hole total of six-under 138 put Kerr two shots clear of South Korea's Sae-Hee Son and Moira Dunn. Sweden's Annika Sorenstam of is one shot further back, alone in fourth.
Kerr has won four times on tour, with three of the triumphs coming last year. She is coming off a second-place finish last week and will be in the final group Sunday at the inaugural event at the Bosque Real Country Club.
Play was halted with four players still on the course. The second round will resume Sunday morning, with the cut to be made as soon as the four golfers are finished.
