MANCHESTER, England (AFP) — Robert Earnshaw's dramatic second-half penalty at Old Trafford earned West Brom a potentially priceless 1-1 Premiership draw against Manchester United.

The point meant Bryan Robson's team will go into the final game of the season, at home to Portsmouth next Sunday, with at least a fighting chance of avoiding relegation.

The 63rd minute penalty, was awarded controversially after a shove by John O'Shea on Geoff Horsfield, and was superbly converted by the Wales striker.

In a dramatic finale, Albion withstood tremendous United pressure after manager Sir Alex Ferguson belatedly brought on his big guns of Wayne Rooney, Louis Saha and Paul Scholes.
