Bjorkman and Mirnyi beat American brothers to win French Open men's doubles

PARIS (AFP) — Sweden's Jonas Bjorkman and Max Mirnyi, the number two seeds, won the French Open men's doubles title with a 2-6, 6-1, 6-4 win over third-seeded American brothers Bob and Mike Bryan.
It was the first Grand Slam title for Bjorkman and Mirnyi as a team but the veteran Swede had already won seven in the past.
He won five with Australian Todd Woodbridge at the 2001 Australian Open, at Wimbledon from 2002-2004 as well as the 2003 US Open.
He teamed up with Dutchman Jacco Eltingh to clinch the 1998 Australian Open title and Pat Rafter in 1999, also in Melbourne.
The Bryan brothers had won the Roland Garros title in 2003.
