Clintons join Reverend Billy Graham's farewell tour

NEW YORK (AFP) — Bill and Hillary Clinton joined evangelist Billy Graham onstage at his farewell "crusade" for souls in New York, as America's most famous preacher heaped praise on the political power couple.

"I told an audience that I felt when he left the presidency he should be an evangelist, because he has all the gifts, and he'd leave his wife to run the country," Graham told an audience numbering in the tens of thousands, on the second night of what has been billed his final "crusade" on US soil.

"They're a great couple,"said Graham, who is considered by many to be the elder statesman dean of Christian leaders in this deeply devout country.
