Heavyweights on collision course at Malaysian Open quarter-finals

KUALA LUMPUR (AFP) — Second-seed Kenneth Jonassen from Denmark was sent tumbling out of the Malaysian Open by China's unheralded Chen Jin, but an array of heavyweights remain on a collision course in Friday's quarter-finals.
While the rest of the top seven seeds, led by Chinese ace Lin Dan, lived up to their billing at the Kuala Lumpur Badminton Stadium in late-night play Thursday, Jonassen proved to be the odd one out.
Youngster Chen Jin emerged from nowhere to win 15-6, 10-15, 15-4 in one of the 120,000-dollar event's biggest upsets.
Top seed Lin Dan, nicknamed Super Dan, remains on course for his fourth title this year after beating Ng Wei from Hong Kong 15-6, 15-12 to book a quarter-final date with compatriot Chen Hong.
