HAMBURG, Germany (AFP) — SV Hamburg are in talks with English Premiership side Tottenham Hotspur over a loan deal for Swiss international defender Reto Ziegler.
"We have reached an agreement with the player but we are still in talks with his club Tottenham Hotspur," declared sporting director Dietmar Beiersdorfer.
The 19-year-old Ziegler, regarded as one of the biggest talents in Swiss football, has seen his chances at Tottenham limited and Hamburg want to take the teenager on loan until the end of the season.
