Bennett, Turner, Redford to receive Kennedy Center Honors

WASHINGTON (AFP) — Legendary crooner Tony Bennett, singer Tina Turner and actor Robert Redford will receive prestigious Kennedy Center Honors on December 3, organizers announced.
Actress Julie Harris, who appeared with James Dean in the 1955 film "East of Eden" and went on to star in the television series "Knots Landing" in the 1980s, and Balanchine ballerina Suzanne Farrell will also be honored, according to a statement by the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts.
"We honor five extraordinary American artists whose unique and abundant contributions to our culture have transformed our lives," Kennedy Center chairman Stephen Schwartzman said in the statement.
