Du gets rave review for Bhoys bow

GLASGOW (AFP) — China defender Du Wei has come through his first Celtic test with flying colours.

The centre back played for the reserves for over an hour in a 1-1 draw with Aberdeen's second string on Tuesday night, earning rave reviews from the Scottish media.

Described as a "class act" by the Daily Record, Du played down the head injury which forced him to leave the field near the end.

"I enjoyed that and after a bit more training I will try to force my way into the first team," he told the Record. "Coming off was just a precaution, there is no problem with my head."

Du's every touch was cheered by a contingent of 300 travelling Celtic supporters and he was given a standing ovation as he left the pitch.
