Portuguese PM visits Libya

TRIPOLI (AFP) — Portuguese Prime Minister Jose Socrates met Libyan leader Moamer Kadhafi in Tripoli, as Libya continues its bid to warm relations with the West.

Socrates said his meeting with the Libyan leader focused on "questions of common international interest," and said Portugal wanted to maintain good relations with Libya, the official news agency Jana said.

Socrates also met with his Libyan counterpart, Shukri Ghanem.
