Dallaglio returns for Wasps

LONDON (AFP) — Former England captain Lawrence Dallaglio will return to action in Wasps' Powergen Cup clash with Cardiff on Friday, four months after fracturing his ankle.

Dallaglio, 32, was injured during the first match of this summer's Lions tour and had a plate and five screws inserted into his right ankle.

Initial estimates placed his recovery time at between four and six months - but Dallaglio had vowed to be back playing by October.

"London Wasps are delighted to announce that Lawrence Dallaglio will feature in the squad to face Cardiff Blues in the Powergen Cup on Friday, October 7," the Premiership champions confirmed in a statement.
