Detroit hires Leyland as manager

DETROIT, United States (AFP) — The Detroit Tigers hired Jim Leyland as manager, one day after Alan Trammell was fired following another disappointing season.
A two-time National League Manager of the Year, Leyland, 60, is reunited with Tigers general manager Dave Dombrowski.
