Femininity, practical chic at Paris shows

PARIS (AFP) — Feminine, cool and modern -- designers Stella McCartney and Ivana Omazic, the new artistic director at France's Celine, unveiled wardrobes for summer 2006 based on practical chic.

Omazic, 32, from Zagreb, made her debut for the French house created by Celine Vipiana 60 years ago by returning to the origins of the label known for its Parisian elegance and chic sportswear.

Models swung out from behind what appeared like a giant open pearl in 'girl-about-town' trench coats and crisp skirts and jackets in natural tones, with bags ranging from very large to teeny.

Chunky beads, long socks to the knee and heels complete the look.
